Sculpture At Goodwood, Goodwood
Sculpture at Goodwood is a charitable foundation opened to the public in 1994. It aims to globally promote and enable British Sculpture through a vigorous programme of Commissioning funding and marketing. Now in its 8th year Sculpture at Goodwood has commissioned over 100 Sculptures and has made a tremendous contribution towards championing the cause of British artists in the international arena. The showcase venue for Sculpture at Goodwood is Hat Hill Copse. These grounds are part of an area of outstanding natural beauty in West Sussex where carefully landscaped woodland reveals the countryside beyond, and, within some twenty acres provides sites for around forty five pieces of British Sculpture each uniquely commissioned by Sculpture at Goodwood. The Foundation's sales successes result in a constantly changing display. Tom Flynn writing in Blains Newsletter: "Sculpture at Goodwood has arguably done more to advance and promote contemporary British sculpture to an international audience than any other single endeavour. Founded as a charity by Wilfred and Jeanette Cass in 1992, Sculpture at Goodwood is now recognised around the world not only as a regularly changing display of ongoing sculptural activity, but as a rapidly growing archive and educational resource relating to the development of British sculpture. It has also become an invaluable resource for all those wishing to commission British sculpture, with a wealth of experience in the development and production of large-scale works."
